17 July 2019 - Peter Payne Society Donation

With the unanimous agreement of the committee, the Society has made a £50.00 donation on behalf of the committee and members to Cancer Research UK in memory of our Chairman Peter Payne in accordance with his families wishes.

01 July 2019 - RIP Peter Payne

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that our Chairman, Peter Payne passed away last week.

Peter had been involved with the Club for so many years and it was very, very close to his heart. He and his wife, Anne spent so much time at the Pond ensuring it looked great and we are all very thankful to them .They will be an impossible act to follow.

The funeral is on Wednesday 24 July at 12:45, Guildford Crematorium with refreshments afterwards at the Parrot, Shalford.

Donations are invited for Cancer Reasearch UK and should be sent to J Gorringe & Son Funeral Directors at 55 Hare Lane, Godalming GU7 3EF together with a covering note advising which funeral the donation pertains to.

Thank you Peter, Rest in Peace.

16 June 2019 - New Season

25 May 2019 - Himalyan Balsam

The Himalayan Balsam has started to reappear at Barnett Pond. One of our members did a fantastic job last season in dealing with this invasive non-native plant species but it will need continued management. Therefore, if you are at the pond and can spare a few minutes before or after your fishing to lift any plants you see it would be greatly appreciated. May be as well to keep some gardeing gloves in the car as they tend to grow alongside the nettles. Here is a link to the species information page on the website of the Non-Native Species Secretariat in case you are unsure as to what it looks like.

01 May 2019 - Online Renewals

In addition to paying for your annual membership renewal online, you can now also now complete your Annual Membership Application online at the same time as well. Included as a part of the online Membership Application Form is an Annual Membership Survey.  If you can spare a few moments, the committee would be very grateful if you could complete this survey as your feedback is important to us and helps us to address any concerns the membership may have and to identify members with skills they may be willing to offer to the Society. The Society exists for the membership and relies upon the goodwill and help of members to continue providing good fishing. We would like to thank you in advance for your participation in this survey and to wish you tight lines!
